(NBIC Convergence, Shiva/Hinduism, God of transformation or destruction?)
This artwork “ma>hadeva” by “MJSL2050″ (oil on canvas) depicts a futuristic variation of the Hindu-God Shiva, also known as “Mahadeva” – the transformer of the universe (in some interpretations also the destoyer , whereas there would be no change without the destruction of the old) – in the “Nataraya” form.
The drum (a symbol of creation) and the fire Shiva holds in two of his arms in the classic depiction are replaced by a fullerene and brain and the arms in this picture are prosthetic. With his third and forth arm he holds a DNA strand. His flying hair is replaced by the symbol of the world wide web. Herewith the attributes for the NBIC Convergence are complete. Due to the dual interpretation of Shiva as transformer, destroyer of evil – and according to some interpretations even of death – or destroyer of the universe, it leaves the question open if converging technologies would lead us a flourishing and positive “(post?)human” future (the positive transformer) or cause our destruction.
The postposthuman’s self-reference, self-consciousness, et cetera, acts as it’s own uterus for the embryo of the same postposthuman…an exploration into new cyclic frontiers.

A frontier outside of infinity? But surely infinity, because of it’s infinite nature, would encompass the frontier outside of it; feedback, a loop…thus the need for cyclo-anarchic technology that will allow paradoxes to be transcended and for a “frontier outside of infinity” to be explored; for absurd illogic to exist and to be explored physically.

Pas le plus abouti de la série, mais il y avait déjà plusieurs bonnes idées.
Not the most accomplished of the series, but there were already several good ideas.
